Because Ursula K. LeGuin, you know.  Like, fuck you, dude. I am an unapologetic lover of science fiction, but I am not going to pretend it isn’t a male-dominated (often misogynistic) space. Especially not through a manipulative speech meant to charm the object of my affections.
